Thanksgiving Menu 2018
Updated: Dec 4, 2019
This will be the first year that I am hosting Thanksgiving! It will be with my momma bear and grace (little sister). I've never actually gone all out for Thanksgiving and have always just attended with a few side dishes or a yummy dessert. I know, shocking since I basically talk all of your ears' off about cooking in the first place.
You're probably thinking, "who is this lady?".
Anyway, I would like to share my Thanksgiving menu with you guys and the recipe cards that I have made to go with them! Feel free to save them for yourselves :)
***Note*** I will most likely be using 1:1 sugar substitutes for everything that contains sugar in it. In addition, I only buy pasture raised eggs so you will see that a lot. If you do not mind, then ignore and use what you have.
First up, cranberry sauce. I feel like this food is a life long debate. Canned over fresh. BUT WHY is this a debate? Seriously, cranberry sauce is the way to go! This stuff can be prepared up to 3 days in advance as well.
Bacon Green Beans
Sometimes its nice to switch up the green beans. I love me some green bean casserole but since I am hosting a small Thanksgiving, I am going to make these instead. All it is, is bacon wrapped green beans. Mmm.
Sweet Potato Casserole........good heavens.
OH, all that is good and holy. Thank the good Lord above for this recipe. I swear by it.
I think it is the brown sugar/cornflake crust. Thanks momma #2 for this delicious recipe I have to have yearly now. This is my favorite recipe besides stuffing. Nom, nom.
You need these mashed potatoes in your life. The cream cheese adds a super creamy consistency + the white pepper gives it some flare.
Dinner Rolls (In under 30 minutes from scratch) :
You heard that right...I did not stutter. Under 30 minute dinner rolls that are flakey and filled with buttery dreams.
Sausage Herb Stuffing:
I've got all your stuffing needs covered! Making stuffing from scratch is SO worth it. Just trust me on this one. All you're doing is making your own croutons basically and then adding in your flavors.
I am skipping out on the turkey nap after dinner this year and switching over to the duck life! I don't follow the rules remember!
There you have it, my thanksgiving menu! I am so excited to cook this meal you have no idea. I might throw in some appetizers in the morning if I feel like it. Maybe some cheese and crackers or some delicious deviled eggs. Hopefully my mom brings over an awesome dessert as well because there is no way I am lol.
I hope you all have the most amazing Thanksgiving with your families and friends. There is always so much to be grateful for! Head over to my Instagram and check out my #30daysofthanks that I have been doing!
What are your favorite Thanksgiving recipes? What will you be cooking on Thursday?
