My Go To Protein Powders

Updated: Dec 4, 2019

Today I am talking all about protein powders! Life is busy sometimes and we have to have the fastest form of nutrition possible. Sometimes we use them for a meal replacement & after work out to replace your aminos. It is essential to replace your aminos. Even if you do not work out, making sure you get all of your aminos is essential to our DNA and everything in our bodies. It is important to have protein because it is a huge building block in nutrition for our bodies.

I personally love protein powders, and always have to help me get some extra protein in because I haven't been huge on eating meat. I do eat chicken, pork & fish but that is about it! I became allergic to beef and red meats about 8 or so years ago (I know.....very sad :( ).

In addition, the protein powders that I choose have pre-biotics and pro-biotics for your gut. If you haven't jumped on that train yet, it left the train station awhile ago soooooo..........

I trust 3 kinds of protein powders. I am sure there are more out there. But after the past 5-6 years of trying different kinds and learning what to look for on labels, I have resigned with these few powders in my diet. Plus, all of these are delicious, won't leave you feeling bloated, and they have amazing ingredients.

Some of the things I look for in powders:

- The 9 essential amino acids---which are: histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine.

-What it is sweetened with. No artificial sweeteners. Will settle for stevia!

-What type of Whey or protein. Grass fed is always better!

-Of course, if I can't pronounce it, it doesn't need to be in there.

- I look for no soy products either. They are disrupting to hormones.

#1- Young Living Balance Complete

Price: Wholesale (Member price) $51.25 | Retail $67.43

So this one is more of a Meal Replacement. You don't need to be a member of Young Living to purchase but it will cost you if you aren't. However, I trust everything from this brand and I have researched fully into this meal replacement.

For one, it tastes like cake. It also has WHOLE, real ingredients in it. It's high in fiber, protein, good fats, enzymes, vitamins + minerals. It is great for weight management due to its meal replacement qualities, or if you just need to get some extra vitamins that you are missing out on.

Some ways to make this:

1 Banana

1-2 Scoops of powder

Little bit of ice

Almond, Coconut Milk, Macadamia Nut Milk, Cashew Milk, or Whole Milk.

1 Scoop of Peanut Butter

1-2 Scoops of powder

Little bit of ice

Milk of choice

Cacao powder

Ripe Banana

1 Banana

Handful of frozen berries

1-2 Scoops of powder

Milk of choice

You can buy it here: Young Living website

*If you don't want to pay retail price, shoot me a message and I can help you get set up as a member*

#2- Happy Way- Vanilla Ice

Price: $43.95 + $20 or so in shipping. Or save 10% by doing auto ship.

Vanilla, Ice, Ice, Baby. Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo.

This protein powder is LIFE guys. If I could order this more often I would. However, they only ship from Australia and it can get pretty pricey. However, if it is in your budget.....It is SO worth it. I don't ever feel bloated with this powder & my body feels balanced if you know what I mean.

Some good stuff in this:

-New Zealand Grass Fed Whey

-Coconut Flour

-Maca Powder

-Himalayan Salt

-Psyllium Husk

-Chia Seeds

-Sweetened with Stevia

They have a bunch of different flavors too. Like chocolate or caramel.

You can buy it here: Happy Way

#3-Pure Protein Complete---Vanilla Spice or Chocolate

Price: $67 Wholesale | $88.16 Retail

You're probably like, "another young living product really?" I promise I am not trying to convince anyone here. I am just giving cold, hard facts. I wouldn't speak of anything I don't believe in. Also, I've tried their products first hand. It's not biased either. It's just the truth, you can trust their products.

But this Pure Protein Complete is great for an after work out supplement. It contains ALL your necessary aminos + it has great enzymes to help your body digest and absorb these nutrients.

The vanilla spice is sooo good with bananas or peanut butter. The chocolate I would have to say the same. But I'll definitely keep buying this powder. It's a must! No bloating, no digestion issues, & I am not as sore after getting in all my aminos.

Purchase here: YL site

Other Suggestions:

Now these are some more powders you could look into purchasing. However I have not tried these. But they do have great ingredients. Only thing I don't know is the tastes!

Naked Whey

Price: $89.99. I would get vanilla or chocolate.

Purchase here!!

Aloha Vanilla Organic Plant Based Protein

Price: $37--based on sizes

Purchase here!!

Thats it for now folks!

If you have any questions, feel free to hollar! I put my stamp of approval on the top 3, however you can't go wrong with the others :)
