My First Thanksgiving!
Updated: Dec 4, 2019
Hey everyone! I just wanted to jump on here and share my first thanksgiving with you all for a second before we all go about our days. First of all, what did you wear to the living room? Was it fancy and sparkly? For me, I was in my jammies and an apron. Hows that for style?
I was super excited to host my first thanksgiving! I love hosting and I am always one to make gatherings super casual. Like they should be. Sometimes get togethers can be stressful for the host due to un-realistic expectations or just for trying to please others. I have never been that way! Of course I want the people coming over to be happy, but if you aren't down for a relaxed, casual, fun time, then don't come to my house!
Anyway, the cooking aspect was actually pretty challenging with one oven. One thing I would do differently is cook all the sides ahead of time the night before and focus on the meat during the day! But regardless of how challenging the cooking aspect was, and even if I looked like a chicken with it's head cut off running around; I wouldn't have changed anything! It was a perfect day. The only road block I ran into was the ground turkey that I got ended up being bad. So I substituted with some frozen links I had in the freezer. Good as new lol.
I am super thankful to have been able to provide ths for my mom and grace who couldn't really afford to do so last year or this year. Giving is way better than receiving. Truly makes you feel better and more content in my eyes.
Without further ado, here are some photos from my Thanksgiving celebration. Lots of cooking, family time, football, wine and chocolate!
I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving! Next up.....CHRISTMAS!!!!
Tell me something you did yesterday! What are some of your family traditions?
